God is the original
source of all true knowledge and all the objects of the material world,
which are known through this knowledge.
Vedas are the repository of all the true knowledge, which had been handed over to the man at the time of creation for his guidance to interact with his fellow beings. Man was born to act according to the teachings contained in the Vedas and for millions and billions of years, life continued to exist in accordance with eternal laws laid down in these holiest of the Holy Scriptures. But some distortions occurred in the Vedic culture from the Mahabharat period approximately some 5000 to 6000 years ago. These distortions further got complicated following the huge losses resulting from the Mahabharat War. Consequently the contemporary scholars began to look for the source of all prevailing evils in these scriptures and present the reality of the Vedas and their concepts in a twisted way. Through their commentaries, the medieval scholars started making an attempt to prove that the Vedas contain, in a large number instances of brutality violence, vulgarity, men and animal sacrifice, meat eating and perverted sexual behaviour and relations. And following into their footsteps and using their texts as their basis, the Western scholars too wrote several commentaries and reviews. As a result, the common man losing the sight of the truth embodied in the Vedas, began to get more and more confused and sink more and more into the mire of ignorance. Since the social structure is always subject to change, the emergence of one or the other sect, ism or controversy is natural. This explains the emergence of philosophic concepts like hedonism and religious faiths as Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam and Bahaism etc. eclipsing the true Vedic knowledge. It was under these conditions that Jagadguru Shankaracharya appeared on the Indian scene. He conceptualized the Vedanta philosophy throwing a challenge to the preceptors of the existing religions and sects. Next to emerge on this scene was Swami Dayanand, who, in the course of his search of true Shiva, came into contact with Guru Virjanand who initiated him into the study of the Vedas. Considering Vedas as self-evident, Swami Dayanand prepared a list of all authentic Vedic scriptures and as a part of this task gave a slogan: “Back to Vedas”. During this campaign, he started the process of rational thinking to help the scholars and others understand the grasp the true knowledge of the Vedas. He authored several works some of which are his commentaries on the Yajur and Rig Vedas and also his masterpiece entitled Satyartha Prakash. But his sudden end disrupted the process he had started. After his death, his followers did make an attempt to carry forward this process but only in a limited way and that too for a short while. In the interim period, there was a flood of literature, which presented the Vedas in a distorted and twisted form. Both the Western and Indian scholars vied with each other in this work. Consequently, far from being projected as the source of God-revealed knowledge at the time of creation, they came to be projected and known as just a set of Hindu rituals. To dispel such misconceptions and to put before the public and scholars the true vedic knowledge in its pristine form, is the main objective of the Vedic Communication Centre. In this scientific and electronic age of today, internet is being used as a powerful medium of communication for propagating and spreading education, science, both pure and social-art, culture and religion etc. The Vedic Communication Centre, through its website,
will not only confine itself to propagating our own Vedic ideals but also
keep a track of their websites engaged in spreading false notions and
wrong ideologies; it will also challenge them to come forward for debate
and discussion to reach the truth. The centre will use all the latest techniques
and technologies of communication like e-conferencing, e-debate, e-interaction
and e-quiz to achieve its ultimate goal to remove the chaos and confusion
emanating from ignorance among the masses by sending out the true Vedic
message in all the four corners of world.
